Night Shift Diesel Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform repairs along with assigned preventive maintenance services on all fleet vehicles (Diesel and LNG tractors, trailers, and other related parts)
• Review and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection reports
• Complete all paperwork on fleet vehicles utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, parts usage and repair times
• Participate in a daily shift handover with our Shop Foreman at the start of your shift to understand the nightly priorities for your team
• Support the other 3 mechanics on the shift and ensure there is communication to both operations and the next maintenance shift regarding work performed during your shift

Qualifications

• 2 years of diesel engine repair work
• 4 years of diesel engine repair work preferred
• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be 18 years or older
• Considerable knowledge in equipment maintenance and repair gained through formal training or on the job experience
• Class A and or Class B CDL desirable
• Must be able to handle major repairs
• Experience with both tractor and trailer PMs and repairs.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge
• Able to safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Able to squat, bend and work in confined areas for extended periods of time
• Must have own tools

In recognition of the unique requirements of this position, a 15% Shift Differential is eligible for night hours worked.

This range reflects the base pay we reasonably expect to offer for this position at the time of posting, considering current market conditions and industry benchmarks.

Schedule

The Night Shift Diesel Mechanic works an off-hours shift of 4:00 PM to 1:30 AM, located in Pittsford, VT.

Pay

The Hourly Hiring Range for this position is $20.00/hr. - $25.00/hr., with a 10% shift differential for night hours worked.
