Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Absorb general receptionist responsibility for the Outpatient Clinic between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (working hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.).
  • Inform therapists when their patients arrive for scheduled appointments.
  • Maintain waiting room order ensuring patients with appointments are admitted if the entrance door is locked.
  • Assume responsibility for general office communication and the relaying of telephone and other messages to specific staff members.
  • File, pull, and maintain records, list groups, and set up rooms for group meetings.
  • Enter client and billing information into an Excel spreadsheet for reporting purposes.
  • Provide additional receptionist coverage at the Harbor Light Residential desk as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

    • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
    • Experience: At least one year receptionist or social service experience preferred.

    Position Limitations

    • This individual will only commit Army resources that have been allocated or approved.
    • This individual will keep the Office Coordinator informed on all critical issues relating to their area of responsibility.
    • This individual will adhere to all Army policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position.

    Physical Demands/Work Environment

    • Required to do light physical work.
    • To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to use standard office equipment and a PC.
    • Must be able to walk up two flights of stairs and lift up to 25lbs.
    • The work environment for this position includes an office environment with a low noise level.
    • Must be able to work with clients that have poor social skills, suffer from mental illness, and have substance abuse problems.

    • Able to work as a team member and well with others.
    • Demonstrated ability to use initiative and be a self-starter.
    • A positive attitude and the ability to be flexible in light of changing job situations/priorities.
    • At least one year of sobriety required.
    • Supportive of the mission of The Salvation Army.

    Reporting Relationships

    • This position reports to the Billing/Office Manager.
    • In contacts related to this position’s duties, this individual acts as a representative of the Army and its mission.

    Performance Measures

    • This individual will be evaluated on how effectively the outcomes of this position are achieved, as well as the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of accomplishing assigned goals.
