About the Role
This position involves managing night operations, staff, and store functions to ensure smooth and efficient performance. Duties vary depending on the shift worked.
Responsibilities
- Lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds (occasionally over 50 pounds).
- Achieve desired gross profit and productivity levels.
- Project sales, product movement, and labor needs.
- Manage and motivate staff, including recruitment, training, development, and adherence to HR procedures (appraisals, discipline, etc.).
- Oversee cash and payment systems while prioritizing staff and customer safety.
- Manage, maintain, and report on merchandise and non-merchandise stock.
- Maintain equipment, fixtures, and store premises in good condition.
- Ensure health, safety, security, and emergency systems compliance, including staff and customer awareness.
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and tactics, and communicate findings to the Store Manager.
- Attend meetings and contribute to company strategy and policy-making.
- Establish daily work assignments and priorities for store employees.
- Receive and unload truck deliveries using available equipment and established guidelines.
- Conduct store closing procedures.
- Perform basic housekeeping duties (mopping, sweeping, sanitizing, etc.).
- Complete required forms, records, reports, and verify receipts.
- Order merchandise and supplies as needed.
- Stand for extended periods to perform job functions.
- Develop personal skills through company-provided or approved external training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Follow company dress code and safety policies.
- Adhere to written and oral instructions.
- Work well with others.
- Fluent in English.
- Eyesight corrected to 20/20 and hearing corrected to normal range.
- Full range of motion in shoulders, arms, hands, legs, and feet.
- Knowledge of total store operations.
