About the Role

Arlo Hotels, an independent lifestyle hotel, is seeking a dynamic Night Manager who is passionate about people, driven by purpose, and clever in their approach. This position oversees all front desk and hotel operations during the overnight shift, ensuring smooth guest arrivals and departures, resolving and preventing guest issues, and maintaining a strong presence throughout the property.

The Night Manager supports the night audit process, monitors safety and security, and coordinates with departments such as Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, and Security to address any overnight operational needs. Additionally, the role ensures proper and accurate reporting, supervises the overnight team, and prepares the Front Office for the next day’s operations.

Responsibilities

  • Always treat guests with courtesy and respect in a variety of situations while displaying honesty and integrity.
  • Oversee the Front Office Department, including Lobby Hosts, and conduct pre-shift meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with staff using tools such as development reviews, training, departmental orientation, and monthly meetings.
  • Motivate and develop team members to maximize room sales, revenue, and profit.
  • Deliver outstanding service and create memorable guest experiences.
  • Oversee all hotel operations during the overnight shift, including property walk-throughs to monitor cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness.
  • Act as the primary contact for all departments overnight, ensuring smooth interdepartmental communication and coordination.
  • Assign, coordinate, and supervise the work activities of Lobby Hosts, including training, mentoring, and development.
  • Ensure all front office procedures and brand standards are consistently followed.
  • Conduct performance reviews with reporting team members.
  • Respond immediately to all emergency situations, complete necessary incident reports, and follow up with guests and staff.
  • Maintain communication with Engineering and Housekeeping for urgent overnight concerns.
  • Manage room availability, walk-ins, cancellations, and no-shows effectively.
  • Ensure hotel safety and security procedures are consistently followed throughout the night.
  • Take personal responsibility for correcting service problems and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Front Office.

Requirements

  • Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.
  • Hospitality Diploma or Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years in a management position.
  • Experience in hospitality or customer service.
  • Opera experience.

Pay

$70,000–$75,000 per year.
