About the role
The Heritage Community seeks dedicated employees to work during the graveyard shift. Candidates must work independently while contributing as a team member and remain alert to provide a positive, safe environment for the students in our care. Founded in 1984, The Heritage Community is one of the longest-standing and established treatment programs for adolescents in the United States, operating as a true non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to help individuals heal and thrive.
Schedule
- Three shifts per week, 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Saturday night shift runs until 8:00 AM
- Work schedule will be coordinated upon hire
Responsibilities
- Supervise students during the night, providing a safe and secure caregiving environment
- Use mediation and intervention techniques to redirect students who wake during the night and need support during escalated moments
- Wake students in the morning and supervise their initial morning tasks
- Ensure all paperwork and documentation requirements are met effectively
Requirements
- Ability to stay awake, alert, and attentive during the night, and energetic in the morning to assist students
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor adolescents
- Assertiveness to learn and continually enhance knowledge of mental health
- Good energy and ability to work in all weather conditions
- Engaging and empathetic character, balanced with tenacity and determination
- Strong problem-solving, decisiveness, and teamwork skills
- Proficient communication and interpersonal-relationship skills
