About the role
The Heritage Community, founded in 1984, is one of the longest-standing and established treatment programs for adolescents in the United States. As a true non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, we seek dedicated employees to work during our graveyard shift. The ideal candidate will work independently while contributing as a team member, maintaining alertness and attentiveness to provide a positive, safe environment for the students in our care.
Schedule
- Part Time: three shifts per week, 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM. Saturday night shift runs until 8:00 AM. Work schedule will be coordinated upon hire.
- Full Time: four to five shifts per week, 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM. Saturday night shift runs until 8:00 AM. Work schedule will be coordinated upon hire.
Responsibilities
- Supervise students during the night, providing a safe and secure caregiving environment.
- Use mediation and intervention techniques to redirect students who wake during the night and need support during escalated moments.
- Wake students in the morning and supervise their initial morning tasks.
- Ensure all paperwork and documentation requirements are met effectively.
Requirements
- Ability to stay awake, alert, and attentive during the night, and energetic in the morning to assist students.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor adolescents.
- Assertiveness to learn and continually enhance knowledge of mental health.
- Good energy and ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Engaging and empathetic character, balanced with tenacity and determination.
- Strong problem-solving, decisiveness, and teamwork skills.
- Proficient communication and interpersonal-relationship skills.
- Successful completion of a background check, including verification of employment history, education, and criminal records.
