Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Religious Studies, Pastoral Counseling, or a related field of ministry from a school accredited by a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
- One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
Requirements
- 2 years of pastoral ministry experience including hospital visitation
- Endorsement or appropriate recognition of ministry by the governing body of the Chaplain’s denomination/faith group
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one unit of hospital-based Clinical Pastoral Education or its equivalent
- Membership (or eligibility for membership) in the Association of Professional Chaplains or the National Association of Catholic Chaplains
- APC Board Certification
