About the Role

Making sure our guests feel welcomed and comfortable plays a paramount role in their satisfaction at Saint Kate. You will be responsible for balancing charges, maintaining files, and resetting the system for the next day’s operations. Additional duties include taking and delivering Room Service orders in a friendly and courteous manner and parking and retrieving valet vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Register guests, issue room keys, and provide information on hotel services and room locations.
  • Provide accurate and appropriate hotel and area information to guests and visitors.
  • Balance and audit for accuracy room revenue, food and beverage revenue, and telephone revenue; assist in the preparation of all reports relevant to daily revenues.
  • Reset the system for next day operations.
  • Balance and audit for accuracy all room and tax charges, cashier’s reports, and guest and house accounts.
  • Complete and transmit daily management and accounting reports and supporting documents; prepare market segmentation report, food and beverage report, and other auditing reports necessary to ensure the accurate accounting of hotel revenues and expenses.
  • Transmit credit card batches.
  • Balance DSTAT and get it posted before 5am.
  • Make corrections and adjustments and handle all computer problems that might occur throughout the shift; call system support if a system fails or issues occur.
  • Greet and welcome guests as well as visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Assist with handling noise complaints and guest relocation.
  • Answer guest questions and respond appropriately to guest complaints.
  • Make appropriate service recovery gestures to assure guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate any outstanding guest requests or issues to management that may require additional monitoring or follow-up.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Front Office Manager and Night Manager.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of accounting operations, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Basic mathematical skills and ability to operate a 10-key by touch.
  • Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner, demonstrating empathy and providing proactive solutions.
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette skills.
  • Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional manner.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Cash handling experience preferred.
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, accurate work consistently and on time.
  • Ability to balance daily work totals of the hotel.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • May be required to work weekends and/or holidays.
