Overview Of The Role
The Night Auditor is responsible for executing all property service, operational, and business functions during the overnight hours. This role requires exceptional customer service and adherence to property, company, and brand guidelines. Applicants must have overnight work experience.
Schedule Availability
- Open availability required
- Part-time typical schedule: overnight shift from 11pm-7am
- Weekend availability is mandatory

Essential Job Functions
- Balance and audit room revenue, food and beverage revenue, banquet revenue, cashier’s reports, and guest and house accounts for accuracy
- Follow all specified day closing audit procedures and prepare the hotel for the next day
- Interact with guests by providing exceptional customer service and sharing hotel knowledge through personalization
- Process mobile arrivals and execute flawless service in the remote check-in area
- Collect and verify methods of payment, assist with guest billing inquiries and concerns
- Follow all specified procedures to maintain and post a daily balance of all house accounts, including running preliminary reconciliations, detail transactions, and final reports to accounting and profit centers
- Reconcile cashiers reports with the restaurant system each night, research and post any unresolved tickets from the day shifts, report any suspicious activities or unusual items in hotel rooms and common areas to hotel leadership and/or loss prevention team
- Actively engage guests in and promote hotel loyalty programs, including new guest program enrollments
- Assign and escort guests to rooms according to their preferences, paying attention to nonverbal cues
- Utilize Empower guest experience tool to reference, maintain, and add guest requests, preferences, and communication details in accordance with property, company, and brand guidelines
- Execute all required front office reports, pre-arrival planning, and checklists as outlined by leadership
- Serve as a concierge by providing local information for shopping, dining, and recreational destinations
- Absorb and deliver luggage and mail to guests
- Resolve all guest inquiries and/or opportunities utilizing appropriate empowerment guidelines
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications
- Speak with others using clear and professional language; prepare and review written documents accurately and completely; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette
- Take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision
- Maintain cleanliness and order of work area
Education & Experience
- High school diploma, equivalent, or higher
- Overnight work experience required
- 1-2 years or more of experience in hospitality, preferably with front desk
- Previous Opera PMS experience preferred, or other hotel reservation systems
- Experience handling tasks and processes that require maintaining high confidentiality
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proven experience working in a clean, organized, and efficient manner
- Experience in handling confidential information
- Ability to work collaboratively on a team, and with other departments within the hotel
- A sense of ownership in everything that you do
