Full-time position overseeing nightly front-desk operations, financial reconciliation, and guest services during the overnight shift.
Responsibilities
- Perform front-desk duties: check-in/check-out, reservations, and guest inquiries.
- Reconcile daily front-desk transactions and ensure accounting accuracy.
- Run trial balance, post rooms, close the day, and distribute next-day reports to Front Office, Housekeeping, Sales, and Executive Office.
- Provide exceptional guest service, handle complaints, and ensure a positive experience.
- Process financial transactions, maintain a house bank, and prepare receipt reports.
- Issue and control access to safety deposit boxes; post miscellaneous charges as requested.
- Answer telephones, handle reservations, check-ins, and check-outs efficiently.
- Assist with transportation arrangements and provide information on local attractions and hotel services.
- Manage messages, wake-up calls, mail, and faxes with prompt and accurate service.
- Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain compliance.
- Utilize Property Management System and Electronic Key Equipment effectively.
- Maintain a clean work area and respond promptly to requests from management.
- Communicate openly with all departments and share pertinent information.
- Demonstrate self-motivation, time management, and a positive response to feedback.
- Apply proper selling techniques to upsell and increase revenue during reservations and walk-ins.
- Complete shift closing accurately, including obtaining approval signatures and authorization codes.
- Work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
- Comply with company rules and regulations for safe and effective hotel operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One to two years of experience in accounting or front office preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of hotel services and local area attractions.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Capable of sitting at a desk for up to 8 hours per day, with walking and standing required for the remainder of the shift.
- Able to lift up to 15 lbs occasionally and perform tasks involving repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.
Pay
$16–$17 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
