NICU - Registered Respiratory Therapist - Nights

About the role

Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care, according to physician's orders. Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy. Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care. Performs duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in respiratory therapy as prescribed by physicians.
• Consult with physicians on the effectiveness of respiratory therapy.
• Serve as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff regarding respiratory care.
• Operate all appropriate respiratory care devices.

Requirements

• Graduate of a CoArc-approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license meeting state licensure requirements.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• For co-workers in the Emergency Room: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
• Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs; pinch up to 10 lbs; and minimally kneel, crouch, and crawl.

Preferred Qualifications

• Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
