Responsibilities
- Lead HS&T Strategy & Execution: Oversee all aspects of site safety, occupational health, and training, ensuring effective program delivery, regulatory compliance, and alignment with corporate standards and strategic priorities.
- Build and Lead High-Performing Teams: Provide direct leadership to safety, industrial hygiene, workers’ compensation, and emergency response functions, while fostering capability, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Drive Operational Excellence: Implement and enhance site-wide systems, including standardized training programs, SOPs, and data management processes to improve consistency, scalability, and performance.
- Strengthen Risk Management: Monitor safety trends, conduct risk assessments, and lead the development of proactive controls and corrective actions to eliminate hazards and reduce exposure.
- Partner with Leadership: Collaborate with site and senior leadership to shape HS&T objectives, influence decision-making, and ensure integration with business plans, operational procedures, and workforce strategy.
- Ensure Compliance & Reporting: Maintain compliance with all regulatory and corporate requirements, while overseeing performance reporting and representing the organization with regulatory and external stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (or equivalent experience) required.
- Minimum 10 years of senior-level HS&T leadership experience in mining, refining, or heavy industrial environments preferred.
- Proven track record designing, leading, and improving large-scale safety, health, and training programs required.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and influencing senior leadership required.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent designation preferred.
