NGM - Grade Control Driller
About the Role
We are looking for a Grade Control Driller to join our growing team. The successful candidate will operate Reverse Circulation (RC) drill rigs safely and efficiently to deliver high-quality grade control drilling while maintaining drill accuracy, sample integrity, and equipment reliability in accordance with mine plans, production schedules, and company standards.

Responsibilities
- Operate RC drill rigs safely and efficiently in accordance with site procedures and manufacturer requirements.
- Complete pre-start inspections, workplace examinations, and risk assessments before commencing work.
- Deliver grade control drilling to specified collar locations, depths, and quality standards.
- Ensure all drill samples are collected, handled, and bagged in accordance with grade control sampling procedures to maintain sample integrity and prevent contamination.
- Monitor and maintain representative sample recovery throughout the drilling process.
- Operate and maintain cyclones, splitters, and sampling systems to maximize sample quality and minimize contamination.
- Immediately identify and report any issues that may compromise sample integrity, drill accuracy, or drilling quality.
- Conduct routine operator maintenance, inspections, and housekeeping of drilling equipment.
- Identify and report equipment defects and coordinate repairs with Maintenance.
- Accurately complete drill logs, production reports, pre-starts, and operational documentation.
- Work closely with Geology, Mining, Survey, and Maintenance teams to achieve production objectives.
- Maintain compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.
- Actively participate in toolbox meetings, safety observations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum three (3) years' experience operating Reverse Circulation (RC) drill rigs, preferably in grade control and/or production mining environments.
- Demonstrated commitment to achieving and maintaining a zero-harm safety culture.
- Strong understanding of grade control drilling practices, drill pattern accuracy, and sample quality requirements.
- Strong understanding of grade control sampling practices, including representative sample recovery, contamination prevention, cyclone and splitter maintenance, and preservation of sample integrity.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently produce high-quality, representative RC samples in accordance with grade control QA/QC requirements.
- Understanding of the impact that drilling practices and sample quality have on ore control and mining outcomes.
- Experience operating in active open pit mining environments preferred.
- Sound knowledge of hazard identification, risk management, and critical risk controls preferred.
- Ability to perform routine operator maintenance and equipment inspections preferred.
- Ability to identify mechanical issues and report defects promptly preferred.
- Commitment to maintaining drill rig cleanliness and housekeeping standards preferred.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills preferred.
- Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and electronic reporting systems preferred.
- Current driver's license and relevant site competencies required.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the inherent requirements of the position required.

About The Team
