Coaching Requirements

• Non-faculty and Classified Employee Coaches must complete the NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching” and “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” courses prior to assuming the position.
• Coaches who successfully completed the ASEP Coaches Education Course before May 15, 2013, are exempt from the NFHS courses.
• School-level Athletic Director must keep on file each year:
  • Concussion Certificate
  • Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificate
  • “Fundamentals of Coaching” certificate (when applicable)
  • “First Aid, Health, & Safety” certificate (when applicable)
  • “NFHS Heat Illness Prevention” course certificate (when applicable)
• All Coaches must complete the NFHS COVID-19 Course for Coaches and Administrators.

About the Role

Ooltewah Middle School is a grades 6–8 school located in Ooltewah, Tennessee, just outside Chattanooga. Teachers at Ooltewah Middle can expect a supportive and collaborative climate, including:

• New Teacher Academy led by an instructional coach, meeting monthly to discuss ideas and solutions
