Duties And Responsibilities
- Proactively engage and make a connection with customers.
- Asking questions and listening to customer needs.
- Directing customers to merchandise, informing them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and STAR card.
- Providing premier customer service by cooperating and building positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships.
- Taking accountability for own actions and outcomes.
- Maintaining store appearance.
- Selling cross-sell products and knowing the layout of the store.
- Making suggestions to customers on latest trends and current promotions based on customer's individual needs.
- Upselling products.
- Leveraging product knowledge, staying updated with latest trends, and using company tools and technology to confidently provide product information.
- Using a Point-of-Sales system to process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, debit cards, and cash handling, including counting money and returning accurate amounts to customers.
- Completing various forms of paperwork, reports, and reconciliations.
- Managing inventory by completing all inventory processes and ensuring merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
- Might participate in periodic inventories.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of products and merchandise.
- Experience in retail preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents.
- Effective communication with customers, peers, and management.
- Basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to multi-task, remain attentive to customers, and be flexible to business needs.
- Teamwork and initiative without direct supervision.
- Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a desire to provide outstanding service.
Physical Demands
- Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours.
- Occasionally stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
- Vision abilities including close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- May lift at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. in some departments.
- Work typically performed indoors but may be assigned outdoors depending on location.
