Duties And Responsibilities

• Proactively engage and make a connection with customers.
• Asking questions and listening to customer needs.
• Directing customers to merchandise, informing them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and STAR card.
• Providing premier customer service by cooperating and building positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships.
• Taking accountability for own actions and outcomes.
• Maintaining store appearance.
• Selling cross-sell products and knowing the layout of the store.
• Making suggestions to customers on latest trends and current promotions based on customer's individual needs.
• Upselling products.
• Leveraging product knowledge, staying updated with latest trends, and using company tools and technology to confidently provide product information.
• Using a Point-of-Sales system to process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, debit cards, and cash handling, including counting money and returning accurate amounts to customers.
• Completing various forms of paperwork, reports, and reconciliations.
• Managing inventory by completing all inventory processes and ensuring merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
• Might participate in periodic inventories.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of products and merchandise.
• Experience in retail preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents.
• Effective communication with customers, peers, and management.
• Basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to multi-task, remain attentive to customers, and be flexible to business needs.
• Teamwork and initiative without direct supervision.
• Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a desire to provide outstanding service.

Physical Demands

• Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours.
• Occasionally stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
• Vision abilities including close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• May lift at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. in some departments.
• Work typically performed indoors but may be assigned outdoors depending on location.
