This full-time position will be based in either our Chicago or New York newsrooms and will include weekend and evening hours. Position Description Create stories that maintain our high standards of journalism and differentiate our brand from our competitorsCreate or clip videos that help viewers and readers understand what matters in news storiesCraft compelling headlines, push alerts and social posts while delivering stories that make a differenceEdit wire and local network-affiliated content for a national audience to ensure standards for journalistic integrity and production quality are metShowcase broadcast segments for publishing across all digital platforms and social media channelsUpdate NewsNation digital platforms (website, app, email, social) with breaking news and topical news of the dayPitch stories daily and develop multiple ideas off a single news topic that push stories forwardUtilize SEO best practicesFlexibility to adjust schedule and assignments as network’s needs evolve. Qualifications 3+ years working in news as a digital reporter or producer.Strong news judgement and ability to determine when local stories have national appealExperience working with video and social mediaExcellent communicator, both oral and writtenBachelor’s degree in journalism, advertising or marketing or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience Salary Range: $60,000 to $75,000 annually Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.
