NewsNation Associate Producer, NNL Weekends (Chicago)

NewsNation Associate Producer, NewsNation Live Weekend (Chicago) NewsNation is looking for an Associate Producer to join the team of the weekend edition of NewsNation Live based in Chicago. This role involves contributing story ideas, compiling elements, and assisting in building engaging live segments and packages based on a wide range of topics ranging from political news to domestic news to international news. The position is based at the network's offices in Chicago. Duties & Responsibilities: Pitch story ideasProduce live guest segments and correspondent hitsCollaborate closely with NewsNation correspondents to produce compelling and accurate live hits and update with new details throughout the showLocate and create strongest possible elements to be used in guest segments and live correspondent hits - including video, graphics, lower thirds - and load them into the rundown quickly and accuratelyWrite, organize, and produce scripts, including but not limited to VO readers, teases, and anchor introsKeep Executive Producer and Senior Producer apprised of developments of storiesPerform other tasks as assigned by show leaders or news management Requirements & Skills: Experience in national or major-market television news preferredBachelor’s degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experienceKnowledge and experience editing video and creating graphicsKnowledge of ENPS or INews preferredExcellent verbal, written, grammar and analytical skillsExcellent knowledge of current events and politicsCommitment to being a self-starter who proactively seeks out tasks and opportunities for growthExhibit strong news judgmentMust have the ability to handle multiple projects or assignments with attention to detailMust thrive in a collaborative work environmentHandle stress, including short deadlinesWork at a computer for extended periods of timeMust be able to work flexible assigned shifts and be on call during overnights, mornings and weekends/holidays Salary Range: $66,300 – $75,000 (commensurate with experience) Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.
