Austin Deaf Club (ADC) is a 501(c)(7) nonprofit established in 1946 as a welcoming home for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community in Austin, Texas. We host social events, games, and gatherings on our spacious patio and offer our venue for workshops, celebrations, and community events.

About the role

We are seeking a Volunteer Newsletter Editor to create, coordinate, and publish our monthly newsletter. This is a part-time, remote workspace opportunity ideal for someone looking to develop skills in editing, content creation, and communications while making a meaningful impact in the Deaf community.

Responsibilities

• Gather, edit, and curate content for the monthly ADC newsletter.
• Coordinate with board members, event organizers, and community contributors to collect timely updates, stories, and announcements.
• Design and format the newsletter using accessible digital tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Canva, or similar platforms).
• Ensure content is culturally relevant, inclusive, and aligned with ADC’s mission and values.
• Publish and distribute the newsletter to members and subscribers by the monthly deadline.
• Solicit feedback from readers and track engagement metrics to improve future editions.
