Newscast Director, AM

About the Role

This is a full-time Broadcast Director position with a consistent AM shift, requiring flexibility to be on call as needed by the News department. The Director coordinates technical operations during newscasts and other live or recorded productions.

Responsibilities

• Direct and/or technically direct newscasts
• Coordinate technical control and production of programs
• Ensure quality standards are met
• Collaborate with news Producers to deliver visually impactful newscasts
• Perform additional duties as needed:
  • Audio operations for daily newscasts
  • Live operations (tuning satellites, microwaves, and other live feeds from the field)
  • Editing with Adobe Premiere editing software
  • Teleprompting for daily newscasts

Requirements & Skills

• High school diploma
• Fluency in English
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Minimum two years’ experience in News operations and Production (market size considered)
• Proficiency with computers and broadcast control equipment
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and multitask
• Ignite automation experience preferred

• Ability to sit for extended periods, conduct telephone conversations, and use electronic mail
• Capable of writing letters, memos, and conducting face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups

• Work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions

• Perform repetitive movements
• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Work in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions
