About the role
KWQC is seeking a journalist who can support both the news and sports departments, covering breaking news one day and high-impact local athlete stories the next.
Responsibilities
- Shoot, write, and edit your own stories
- Contribute packaged story elements to both the news and sports departments
- Pitch story ideas daily
- Collaborate with the digital team to develop creative distribution strategies for your stories
- Generate new, creative ideas to grow streaming content in news and sports
- Incorporate feedback from the management team
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to cover a mix of breaking news and feature stories
- Experience with AP style for web and broadcast writing
- Strong communication skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Experience shooting and editing content; must be able to carry gear
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (Motor Vehicle Records check required)
