Sports Multimedia Journalist

About the role

We are seeking a full-time Sports Reporter in Birmingham, Alabama.

Responsibilities

• Produce daily content on digital, social, and broadcast platforms
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Sports Director and News Managers
• Generate daily story ideas and demonstrate enterprise reporting and creativity in storytelling
• Maintain an active social media presence to build your brand and solicit original story ideas
• Work under tight deadlines and on a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Deliver dynamic live shots and use strong visual storytelling and production to create memorable content

Requirements and Qualifications

• Previous anchoring experience is required
• Must have at least two years of on-air experience
• Live shot experience is required
• Previous experience working in a team environment is a must

Skills and Experience

• A self-starter who can generate his or her own story ideas on a daily basis
• Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal
