About the role
KSEE24/CBS47 in beautiful Fresno, California is hiring a news reporter to join our team. We are looking for someone who thrives covering breaking news but also knows how to dig beneath the police reports and press releases to tell issue-driven stories through real people.
Responsibilities
- Covers breaking news and investigates newsworthy events through interviews, investigations, and observations for all platforms including broadcast and digital.
- Describes the background and details of events and issues for all platforms.
- Gathers information through research, interviews, experience, or attendance at various functions.
- Ensures all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
- Interacts with viewers/users on social media.
Requirements & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- Fluency in English.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Superior on-air presence.
- Able to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Must join SAG-AFTRA union.
Salary
$50,000-$60,000 commensurate with experience and skill level.
