News Producer

About the role

In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day production of our AM newscast. You will work closely with the AM Executive Producer, Directors, and Anchors on the newscast and its content. You will determine the content and flow of newscasts, work with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories, and develop content for our website.

Responsibilities

• Produce an exciting and informative AM newscast
• Exercise solid news judgment and compelling, accurate writing
• Multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills
• Execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts
• Solve problems flexibly and on-the-spot
• Use newsroom systems such as iNews proficiently

Requirements

• At least some previous news producing experience at a commercial TV station (the right entry-level candidate may be considered)
• A journalism degree is preferred

Pay

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $17.50 to $18.11 per hour. Final compensation will be determined by relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
