News Producer

WETM News 18 is seeking a News Producer to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Produce daily newscast items and decide the order in which stories will be told.
• Write teases and other content, and time news programs.
• Edit video and post video to the website.
• Produce newscasts for broadcast across all platforms.
• Write and order news stories; approve scripts.
• Balance news and feature content to create compelling broadcasts.
• Write stories for the website and other eMedia platforms.
• Interact with viewers and users on social media sites.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work‑related experience.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Flexibility to work any shift.

Pay

$16 per hour
