News Anchor/Reporter
About the role
The role of News Anchor/Reporter for the Rocky Mountain Region of 24/7 News is an exciting part-time opportunity within a dynamic newsroom environment. This position requires a self-motivated individual capable of working nights, holidays, and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Anchor newscasts for multiple markets.
- Write clear, concise news copy.
- Produce, edit and write content for 24/7 Newswire.
- Post news and video content to newsroom social media platforms.
- Gather audio from press conferences, live events and partner TV stations.
- Produce short-form reports (voicers/wraps) for anchors on the following shift.
- May be called on to anchor breaking news reports as needed.
- General newsroom responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Self-motivated to find stories as a reporter and also anchor newscasts for multiple markets.
- Strong social media skills including email, writing/posting for Facebook, X (Twitter) and Instagram.
- Willing to work nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Strong on-air presence and ability to present newscasts with authority.
- Excellent writing and editing ability; excellent grammar.
- Strong time management skills; adept at setting priorities and managing deadlines.
- Knowledgeable and up to date with local, regional, and national trends.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficient in media production (primarily audio) and broadcast systems.
- 3+ years’ experience in on-air journalism in smaller market or college station.
- 4-year college degree preferred, Communications or Journalism degree a plus.

Pay
Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data.
