About the Role
KTBC FOX 7 Austin is looking for an energetic, relentless storyteller to anchor our premier evening newscasts and drive our 24/7 streaming presence in one of the fastest-growing markets in the country. If you know how to break news on TV, engage thousands on social media, and build a brand viewers trust everywhere, we want you on our team.
Responsibilities
- Own the Desk: Anchor live daily newscasts and high-stakes breaking coverage with credibility, warmth, and high energy.
- Anchor Digital Newscasts: Anchor live digital newscasts presented without scripts, using strong news judgment and a conversational, confident delivery.
- Fuel the Digital Engine: Create engaging video-first content for Reels, TikTok, and Shorts, and push urgent updates to FOX7Austin.com, our app, and OTT streaming channels.
- Engage the Community: Host live digital Q&As, interact directly with viewers online, and represent the station at major Central Texas events.
- Drive the Story: Pitch enterprise leads, champion bold investigative angles, and mentor our team of reporters.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of primary anchoring experience in a fast-paced market.
- Proven digital skills with a track record of growing an engaged online audience.
- Strong unscripted anchoring ability and the editorial judgment to handle live and breaking-news coverage.
- Mastery of video editing, CMS platforms, and live breaking-news execution.
- A standout reel showing your best studio work and engaging social and digital content.
Pay
$130,000.00-150,000.00 annually.
