Newport Aquarium Catering Team Lead

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage all buffet and bar services – buffet attendants, dishwashers, bartenders
• Manage a staff of up to 10 people
• Responsible for all food service operations
• Being responsible for opening and closing duties

Qualifications

• Able to display and live out our Lead with Love principles
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor
• Knowledge of food safety standards and practices
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Familiarity with food service equipment and buffet setups
• Basic understanding of inventory management practices
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
• Positive attitude and a willingness to assist guests and colleagues
• Able to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a flexible approach to work

Requirements

• Successful completion of post-offer background check
• Previous experience in a food service or hospitality role preferred
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Able to remain on feet for long periods of time, climb stairs, bend and stoop
• Physical strength, including the ability to lift up to 30 pounds
• Reliable transportation; public bus service is not typically available at the conclusion of most evening events
