New Jersey/New York – Senior Project Manager / Team Leader – Water & Wastewater
Job Summary
The Senior Project Manager / Team Leader will support the growth of WSP's NY/NJ water business. Key responsibilities include leading major infrastructure programs, developing talent, and influencing operational performance.

The NJ/NY market presents a sustained pipeline of complex municipal infrastructure work, driven by NJDEP compliance programs, consent decrees, capital improvement mandates, and federal investments.
Responsibilities
- Lead planning, design, permitting, and construction-phase services for major water and wastewater infrastructure projects
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk across concurrent programs
- Develop and mentor project managers, engineers, and technical staff
- Support recruiting and workforce growth initiatives as the practice expands
- Support strategic pursuits, proposals, and account growth
- Drive project delivery excellence and establish operational best practices
Requirements
- PE license in NJ or NY required, or ability to obtain through reciprocity
- 10–20+ years of municipal water/wastewater consulting experience
- Strong project management and leadership experience on complex infrastructure programs
- Demonstrated success managing multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with NJDEP permitting, consent decree environments, and municipal capital programs preferred
- Business development experience and existing client relationships are highly desirable
Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field, plus 10-20 years of relevant experience
- Skills: Strong project management, leadership, and communication skills; ability to manage multidisciplinary teams; familiarity with NJDEP permitting, consent decree environments, and municipal capital programs
Benefits
