About the Role

The Baptist Health Fall 2026 New Grad RN Residency is a comprehensive, evidence-based onboarding, education, and training program designed specifically to transition newly graduated registered nurses from students to safe, competent professional practitioners. The program helps participants gain the experience, judgment, skills, and confidence needed to navigate the complexity of hospital life.

Integrated into our hospital's educational structure, the BHSF New Grad RN Residency includes:

  • Guided preceptor clinical experience
  • Instructor-led core curriculum
  • Interactive classes and skills labs
  • A formal mentoring program
  • Debriefing/self-care sessions
  • 360-degree evaluation

RN Residents, with support, progress to the competent level quickly, safely, and effectively. The length of the residency program is 18-22 weeks and is projected to begin on November 2, 2026. This opportunity is open to recent RN graduates with less than 6 months of acute care experience or RNs with under 1 year of experience in non-acute care settings. Availability is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Requirements

  • New graduates must be from a nursing program accredited by the CCNE or ACEN by August 31, 2026.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Associate degree graduates must commit to obtaining a BSN within 3 years of hire.
  • Candidates must obtain a Florida RN license and a current BLS card prior to the start of the residency.
  • The RN Residency requires full flexibility; time off is not approved during the program.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Copy of Nursing Diploma or Unofficial Transcript reflecting the degree awarded date.
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider card issued by the American Heart Association, current until at least 6/2027.
  • One letter of recommendation from your clinical professor/instructor.

Include all employment from the past 10 years, listed in chronological order, even if unrelated to healthcare.

Pay

Estimated pay range for this position is $33.70 - $42.64 per hour, depending on specialty.
