About the role
HCA Healthcare is offering a sponsored residency program for May 2026 graduates at Centerpoint Medical Center. Sponsored positions are available in Medical Telemetry, Cardiac Care, Ortho Surgical Trauma, or Progressive Care Unit. Only those who meet the sponsorship qualifications and have an OPT that can be active upon graduation are eligible to apply.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition during admission and each shift as scheduled, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Administer prescribed medications.
- Maintain patient safety by monitoring for therapeutic response and notifying providers and intervening as necessary.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about their medical condition, treatment plan, medications, and possible side effects, and provide follow-up measures.
- Anticipate and resolve patient needs proactively.
Requirements
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of employment.
- A basic associate or bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program.
- A current Registered Nurse license or Graduate Nurse license in the state.
- No prior experience is required.
- Travel may be needed for training.
Qualifications
- Must have an OPT that can be active upon graduation.
- Must be willing to continue education using Day One CPT program.
- Must be willing to work while attending future education.
- Must be willing to relocate to Kansas City if needed.
