About the role

Cleveland Clinic's Mercy Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 2M Med/Surg & Telemetry Unit, where you will work alongside passionate and dedicated caregivers. This unit provides care to diverse populations of surgical and medical/telemetry patients, including those who have undergone surgeries such as hysterectomy, bowel resection, vascular surgery, cosmetic surgery, mastectomy, and more. 2M is an inclusive unit that fosters respect, collaboration and support among all caregivers and prioritizes open communication to ensure that everyone feels heard and valued. 2M also encourages RNs to obtain med/surg certification and participate in the Nurse Practice Council and Professional Congress.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs
  • Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach
  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability)
  • Initiate and/or maintain interventions to assure continuity of safe/effective care for patients
  • Respond to data indicating risk to patients' health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk
  • Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently
  • Document in patients' medical records

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Pay

Minimum hourly: $35.50 • Maximum hourly: $55.60

Schedule

Nights from 7:00PM – 7:30AM, with weekend and holiday requirements
