New Grad RN Residency
About the role
The HCA Nurse Residency Program at HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital is a year-long, paid program designed to transition new graduate nurses from the classroom to professional practice. The program provides hands-on experience, advanced clinical training in a specialty area, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship, mentoring, and collaborative evidence-based practice projects.
As a Resident I Graduate Nurse, you will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with state and specialty standards. You will work collaboratively with medical providers and care teams using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage,” serving as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers.

- 5/2026: Med/Surg, PCU, ICU (Very Limited), and ER (Very Limited)
- 7/2026: Med/Surg, PCU, ICU (Very Limited), and ER (Very Limited)
Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, reporting changes in status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers.
- Document administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and intervene in the event of unintended reactions.
- Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs proactively.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology for clarity.
Requirements
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 1 year of employment.
- Other certifications may be required during employment.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse status in the state.
- No previous experience needed.
- Some travel may be required for training.

About the Facility
HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital is a four-story, 150,000-square-foot facility with 70 private beds and a six-bed private ICU. Services include:
- Full range of acute care services, including emergency care, inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging, and inpatient and outpatient surgery.
- Cardiac catheterization, laboratory, pharmacy, and full support services.
- A 14,500-square-foot Emergency Department with 22 private treatment rooms, an EMS entrance, and a helicopter pad.
