New Grad Nurse Residency Program RN - Good Samaritan Hospital

About the role

The First Year Experience Residency is a yearlong program offered by TriHealth to facilitate the successful transition of new graduate RNs into competent and professional critical thinkers.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain acute care nursing experience.
  • Bridge the gap between school and practice through application-level knowledge.
  • Debrief in small groups for increased support.
  • Participate in 12 monthly seminars lasting 4 hours each, focusing on quality outcomes, professional role, and leadership.
  • Engage in clinical reflection time with trained facilitators.
  • Complete an evidence-based project as a group during monthly seminars.
  • Apply the nursing process when providing direct and indirect holistic care to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other health care team members to meet patient needs.
  • Delegate certain aspects of care to those under direct supervision, within the scope of nursing practice.

Requirements

  • A newly licensed RN in specialty areas where the Vizient PNR Program is a requirement.
  • An RN with less than 1-year full time acute care RN experience prior to entering their RN role at TriHealth.
  • An RN with less than 2 years part time acute care RN experience prior to entering their RN role at TriHealth.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
  • License / Certification: Preferred certification in specialty / related organization (if applicable for the position).
  • BLS/CPR: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
  • RN License: Current, valid, unencumbered RN license in the State of Ohio.

Skills

  • Knowledge, judgment and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social and nursing sciences.
