The New England Air Museum (NEAM), one of the nation's premier aviation museums and the largest aerospace museum in New England, seeks an accomplished Executive Director to lead the Museum's next phase of growth and impact. Located adjacent to Bradley International Airport, NEAM stewards a nationally significant collection of more than 100 historic aircraft and aerospace artifacts and is widely recognized for its aircraft restoration program, engaging exhibitions, and hands-on STEM education.

About the role

As Executive Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of NEAM's operations, including fundraising, strategic planning, community engagement, and visitor experiences. You will work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure the Museum's mission is achieved and to drive the organization towards its goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to increase visitor numbers and revenue streams.
• Manage the Museum's budget and financial resources effectively.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners.
• Oversee the Museum's facilities and ensure they are safe and accessible.
• Develop and execute marketing and public relations campaigns to enhance the Museum's visibility and attract new audiences.
• Collaborate with the Board of Directors and staff to set and achieve organizational goals.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a non-profit organization.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as museum studies, business administration, or a related discipline.
• Proven track record of successfully leading and growing a non-profit organization.
• Experience in fundraising, strategic planning, and community engagement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to manage budgets and financial resources effectively.
• Knowledge of best practices in museum management and education.
• Experience with public relations and marketing.
