Pay
Salary Range: $20.67 – $28.85 per hour (good-faith estimate upon hire). This position includes eligibility for quarterly incentives and may be considered for annual performance-based salary increases; eligibility and amount are determined by individual performance and business needs.

Responsibilities
- Handle the opening, maintenance, and closure of various account types, including savings, checking, Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs), and Certificates of Deposit (CDs)
- Engage with customers, explain financial services, and guide them through the account setup process
- Cross-sell bank products and services, and manage safe deposit boxes
- Record account information accurately, address customer inquiries, and rectify errors
- Navigate regulatory requirements, obtain necessary clearances, and adhere to established procedures
- Provide customers with all necessary disclosures before opening an account
- Interview customers to explain available financial services and tailor solutions to their needs
- Track personal information to build lasting relationships and follow up promptly
- Enter account details obtained from customers accurately into systems
- Refer customers to appropriate staff for additional services and obtain necessary clearances
- Manage check orders and admit customers to safe deposit vaults
- Place new account uncollected funds on hold and notify customers
- Process teller transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and check cashing
- Verify signatures and ensure authentication measures are met when cashing checks or disbursing funds
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least one year of experience in a financial institution, customer service, sales, or operations role—or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to apply common sense and judgment when handling non-routine situations or customer issues
- Working knowledge of banking operations and policies
- Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate interest, balance accounts, and accurately count cash and negotiable instruments
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience opening consumer deposit accounts (e.g., checking, savings, IRAs, CDs), distributing required disclosures, placing Reg CC holds, processing check orders, and completing documentation in accordance with bank policies
- Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs, cross-sell bank products and services, make appropriate referrals, and build long-term customer relationships through effective follow-up and service excellence
- Working knowledge of teller functions, including processing deposits and withdrawals, cashing checks, verifying signatures and authentication, admitting customers to safe deposit vaults, and balancing cash in a high-volume environment
