Neurosurgery - PRN

About the role

Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting a PRN BC/BE Neurosurgeon in Columbus, Georgia to help expand the neurosciences service line with the vision of becoming the highest‑quality and largest program in the state. The position offers the opportunity to develop and foster program growth while accessing state‑of‑the‑art technology and joining an established team of neurosurgeons and neuro‑specialists.

Responsibilities

• Develop and foster growth of the neurosciences service line to achieve the organization’s vision for quality and size.
• Provide neurosurgical care at Piedmont Columbus Regional’s Midtown and Northside campuses, including the Level 2 Trauma Center and the dedicated Neuroscience floor with an attached Neuro ICU.
• Collaborate with existing neurosurgeons, neuro‑specialists, and interventional radiology staff, including participation in mechanical thrombectomy procedures for acute ischemic stroke.
• Utilize state‑of‑the‑art technology to deliver safe, high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Neurosurgery.
• Willingness to work on a PRN (as‑needed) basis.
• Active medical license to practice in Georgia.

Qualifications

• Experience with trauma and stroke‑related neurosurgical procedures.
• Ability to integrate into a multidisciplinary team across two hospital campuses.
• Commitment to the mission of a private, not‑for‑profit health system focused on patient‑centered care.

Skills

• Advanced neurosurgical techniques, including operative and endovascular procedures.
• Familiarity with mechanical thrombectomy and acute stroke management.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with neurology, radiology, and intensive care teams.
