What you should expect to do in this role
- Demonstrates the ability to independently utilizes Electroencephalograph equipment and impedance meter equipment
- Independently utilizes EEG technology including A-D conversion, impedance, common mode rejection, filters and sensitivity settings and montages
- Demonstrates ability to monitor normal and abnormal EEG patterns, neuroanatomy and physiology associated with EEG Measurement and application of electrodes using the internal 10-20 system of placement with adults and pediatrics
- Documents all patient related activities in a manner that is thorough, clear, timely and allows for easy retrieval of information and is consistent with medical center policies and procedures
- Affords assistance to the organization in incorporating the guiding principles into its education practices and in creating an environment responsive to change
- Independently performs routine EEG/VEEG studies
- Consistently meets established productivity requirements
Qualifications
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course through American Heart Assoc. or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR
- ABRET EEG Registered
- Minimum 2-3 months of training as an EEG Tech
- Associated degree of an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation
- 1 or more years of experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, verbal and written
- Teamwork skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of principles of growth and development over an individual's life span
