About the role
Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center and Piedmont Physicians are recruiting a General Neurosurgeon to join their team of top-notch surgeons. This position offers high-volume practice with a wide range of conditions, including degenerative spine and adult deformity, peripheral nerve pathology, cranial and spinal oncology, and trauma.
Responsibilities
- Lead the community in providing patient-centered neurosurgical services
- Treat patients from 18 surrounding counties in the greater Athens area and beyond
- Operate on a block system in the operating room, with dedicated block time upon arrival
- Share practice call with Neurosurgical APPs and other Piedmont Neurosurgery partners
- Share trauma call responsibilities with another local group, with 1/8 call responsibility upon arrival of another Neurosurgeon
- Participate in the University of Georgia sports medicine department and provide care to athletes
- Teach and conduct research at the UGA/MCG medical school
Requirements
Must be board certified or board eligible in Neurosurgery.

- Strong clinical skills and excellent interpersonal abilities
