Neurosurgeon - Locum Coverage

About the role

Seeking a qualified Neurosurgeon (MD) to provide 24-hour call coverage at a Level I Trauma Center. The physician will manage inpatient neurosurgical consultations, perform approximately one surgery per night, and handle both cranial and spinal cases. The role involves responding to emergency cases, utilizing EPIC EMR for documentation, with APP support available during shifts.

Schedule

7 nights per month, either every other day or consecutive nights, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Respond to neurosurgical consultations and manage urgent cases
• Perform neurosurgical surgeries, primarily one per shift
• Utilize electronic medical records for documentation
• Coordinate with APP support for seamless patient care

Requirements

• Board certification (negotiable)
• Experience in neurosurgery, including complex spine and cranial procedures
• Ability to handle emergency consultations and perform surgeries independently
• Strong communication and clinical documentation skills
• Comfort with on-site inpatient coverage in a high-capacity trauma setting
