About the Role
Join a 3-provider neurosurgery group at UP Health System-Marquette in Marquette, MI, replacing a relocating neurosurgeon. This employed position offers a 40% outpatient and 60% operating room/inpatient mix, with a supportive team of 6 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) who take first call. The role includes a teaching affiliation with Michigan State University in a collegial, collaborative environment.
The practice features a Level II Trauma Center, a clinic within the hospital, and a comprehensive Brain & Spine Center that includes Neurology, Physiatry, Interventional Pain, Neurophysiology, and Neuro/Health Psychology. Outreach clinics are held weekly in Escanaba, Ishpeming, Hancock, Iron Mountain, Manistique, and Newberry.
Responsibilities
- Manage an average of 20-30 patients per clinic day
- Participate in a 1:3 call rotation
- Leverage an EMR and software-assisted triage system for patient care
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including 1 RN, 1 LPN, 7 C/MAs, and 7 clerical staff
