About the role

The Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of neuroradiology.

Qualifications

  • M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree
  • Certified by the American Board of Radiology
  • Neuroradiology CAQ-eligible
  • Completion of a two-year neuroradiology fellowship is strongly recommended

Responsibilities

Teaching

  • Daily clinical supervision, teaching residents and fellows during readouts and conferences
  • Participating in interdisciplinary conferences with clinical sub-specialties
  • Teaching medical students rotating through the Department of Radiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and Pennsylvania Hospital
  • Serving in an administrative, educational leadership role within the Neuroradiology division

Clinical

  • Providing outstanding clinical service to all referring clinicians
  • Expert clinical consultation to partners in the departments of Emergency Medicine, Otorhinolaryngology: Head and Neck Surgery, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, and Ophthalmology
  • Participating in the Neuroradiology off-hours on-call program, including evening, night, and weekend coverage

Research or Scholarship

  • Leading the development of a focused body of research in a field within Neuroradiology
  • Mentoring junior faculty, providing strong guidance and support in developing clinical or basic research careers
  • Evidence of scholarship is required in the clinician-educator track

Penn Radiology provides clinical services for the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia Veteran Affairs Medical Center, and affiliated outpatient imaging centers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
