About the role

Position Summary: Direct clinical neuropsychological services.

This is a Tenure/Non-Tenure Track position, FLSA Exempt (not eligible for overtime provisions of the FLSA). Anticipated start date is as soon as possible. The role is based at Stony Brook Medicine, Long Island's premier academic medical center, which includes Stony Brook University Hospital, Stony Brook Children's Hospital, the five Health Sciences schools (Dental Medicine, Health Professions, Medicine, Nursing and Social Welfare), major centers and institutes, and over 50 community‑based healthcare settings throughout Suffolk County.

Responsibilities

• Administration, scoring, and interpretation of neuropsychological assessment measures
• Cognitive remediation
• Report writing based on assessment results
• Involvement in multidisciplinary teams
• Interviewing and consultation with patients and families
• Possible involvement in psychotherapy and/or family support groups related to neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders (e.g., concussion, epilepsy, ADHD)
• Participation in departmentally based research programs
• Supervision of graduate students in psychology
• Supervision of postdoctoral fellows

Requirements

• Completion of a PhD, PsyD (or foreign equivalent) in psychology (APA accreditation preferred)
• Completion or in the process of completing a neuropsychology fellowship
• Licensed to practice psychology in New York state
• Primary training in either pediatric or lifespan neuropsychology
• Eligibility for board certification through the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology or the American Board of Neuropsychology
• The selected candidate must successfully clear a background investigation

• Experience treating patients with neurological disorders
• Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
