About the role

The Department of Pathology at Montefiore Medical Center is one of the largest and most comprehensive medical center laboratories on the East Coast. We are seeking a full-time Academic Neuropathologist to join a staff of 35 Anatomic Pathologists. The Division of Anatomic Pathology practices a “hybrid” model of subspecialty sign-out which allows for a combination of two or more subspecialties, if desired. The department receives approximately 66,000 Surgical Pathology cases per year, including roughly 400 central nervous system tumor cases, in addition to neuromuscular biopsies and other neuropathology specimens. Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services in surgical pathology, including neuropathology specimens
• Interact with clinicians and multidisciplinary patient care teams
• Participate in the residency training program and medical student education
• Engage in collaborative and translational research opportunities (encouraged)

Qualifications

• Completed Neuropathology fellowship or extensive subspecialty experience in Neuropathology
• Training or experience in Ophthalmic Pathology (desired but not required)
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) or Anatomic Pathology (AP) only
• Current New York State Medical License or ability to obtain one
• Solid diagnostic skills, enthusiasm for teaching, and strong communication abilities

Pay

Competitive salary of $250,000–$375,000 per year, depending on years of experience. (Posted pay range: $240,000–$300,000.)
