Neuromuscular Neurologist

Legacy Medical Group Neurology is recruiting an outpatient (clinic-based) Neuromuscular Neurologist to join our team in the Portland-Vancouver metro area. Clinics are located in Portland or within 20 minutes of downtown.

About the Role

The clinic-based Neurologist will provide outpatient consultation and management of patients with neurological disorders at the Emanuel location. You will join a team of 12 outpatient neurologists, 4 clinic APPs, and 8 neurohospitalists. We have subspecialty programs in autoimmune neurology/MS, epilepsy, headache, movement disorders, neuromuscular disease, neuro-ophthalmology, and vascular neurology.

While some general neurology practice is required, there is an opportunity to develop a subspecialty practice as desired. Our outpatient neurology group provides coverage for after-hours and weekend patient calls, but no inpatient call is required. Additional opportunities include joining our clinical trials program (supported by the Legacy Research Institute) or participating in teaching medical students or internal medicine residents.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical and administrative services in the Neurology Program.

Requirements

• Graduate of a four-year accredited U.S. Medical School or equivalent.
• Satisfactory completion of an accredited residency in Neurology.
• Completion of a Neuromuscular Medicine or Clinical Neurophysiology (EMG) fellowship.
• Board Certified in Neurology.
• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the applicable state.
• Active member in good standing of Hospital Medical Staff.
• BLS for Provider certification from the American Heart Association (ACLS may substitute for BLS).
