Neuromuscular Medicine Clinical Educator, Department of Neurology, Stanford University

Stanford University’s Division of Neuromuscular Medicine in the Department of Neurology invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Clinician Educator Line. The primary criterion for this appointment is demonstrated excellence in clinical care, teaching, administrative duties, and/or scholarship aligned with the division’s programmatic needs.

About the role

You will join a team of 17 neuromuscular neurologists in multidisciplinary and neuromuscular clinics, satellite clinics, electrophysiology laboratories, and the inpatient consult service. The position also involves teaching medical students, neurology residents, and neuromuscular fellows, as well as collaborating with the existing neuromuscular clinical research infrastructure to launch clinical trials and investigator-initiated studies. Opportunities exist to work with colleagues in autonomic neurology, pediatric neurology, neurogenetics, neuroimmunology, cardiology, pulmonology, and related fields.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care in multidisciplinary and neuromuscular clinics, satellite clinics, and electrophysiology laboratories
• Serve on the inpatient consult service
• Teach medical students, neurology residents, and neuromuscular fellows
• Participate in the neuromuscular clinical research infrastructure to launch clinical trials and investigator-initiated studies
• Collaborate with colleagues across related specialties, including autonomic neurology, pediatric neurology, neurogenetics, neuroimmunology, cardiology, and pulmonology
• Contribute to data organization from electronic medical records into database systems, particularly if experienced in directing large multi-disciplinary clinics

Requirements

• Medical licensure in California
• Board certification in Neurology
• Board eligibility in Neuromuscular Medicine or Clinical Electrophysiology/EMG

Qualifications

• Experience directing large multi-disciplinary clinics, particularly with expertise in managing data organization from electronic medical records into database systems
• Clinical and translational research experience, including administering and managing novel immunomodulatory, cell-based, and genetic treatments
• Interest in further specialization within the neuromuscular field, with mentorship provided

Pay

The expected base pay range for this Clinical Assistant Professor position is $241,000–$259,000. This range reflects base pay based on faculty rank and years in rank and does not include additional components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs. The final offer will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable roles.
