Neurology Veterinary Technician

Responsibilities

• Aid in neurological examinations and diagnostic procedures such as MRI, CT, myelograms, and CSF taps.
• Prepare pre-operative anesthesia plans.
• Calculate and administer drug dosages and pre/induction medications.
• Administer constant rate infusions and monitor anesthesia levels during surgeries.
• Perform pre-operative patient assessments, IV catheterization, and assist in post-operative care.
• Maintain detailed records of surgical procedures, anesthesia protocols, and patient vitals.
• Communicate with clients and provide education on patient care.
• Utilize advanced techniques such as locoregional anesthesia, arterial catheterization, and CPCR.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care.

Requirements

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or equivalent certification.
• Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and client interaction skills.
• Knowledge of anesthesia techniques and emergency care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a recognized veterinary technician program.
• Current LVT license or equivalent certification.
• Experience in a veterinary setting preferred.

Pay

$26–$30/hr, starting pay based on licensure, skill set, and experience.

Schedule

Full-time, 4 x 10-hour shifts, Monday–Thursday.
