Neurology - Advanced Practice Provider - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

About the Role

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) contributes to the clinical, educational, and research missions of the organization. Provides clinical care in inpatient, outpatient, telehealth, and triage settings, including health assessments, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions. Collaborates with other health professionals to assess and manage health problems, maintain continuity of care, and coordinate community services. Contributes to the development, maintenance, evaluation, and improvement of the healthcare delivery system.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality care for patients and families, manages chronic and acute conditions, and promotes health maintenance.
• Performs and documents history and physical exams, gathers data from medical records, reviews outside records, communicates with referring providers, and develops and implements care plans.
• Monitors and documents patient progress, revises care plans as needed, interprets test results, and intervenes appropriately, including specialty referrals or escalation of care.
• Acts as a consultant and presents educational programs to community groups, organizations, or individuals.
• Contributes to the organization’s education and research missions through participation in projects, presentations, professional organizations, precepting, and scholarly activities.
• Serves as a role model, encouraging professional behaviors and representing advanced practice on organizational committees.
• Complies with all applicable policies, laws, and regulations, including Colorado Medical Board, Joint Commission, Medicare, and Medicaid requirements.
• Maintains current licensure, board certification, BLS, ACLS, or PALS (as applicable), and stays updated on regulatory changes.

Requirements

• Graduate degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Colorado PA or APRN license with prescriptive authority; DEA registration; national certification (PA or NP).
• Current CPR/BLS certification; ACLS or PALS if applicable to the practice area.
• 1 year of recent, related experience as an Advanced Practice Provider preferred.

Travel

Travel between National Jewish Health sites may be required as needed.

Pay

Salary range: $110,000 - $150,000.
