About the role

Shionogi Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of Shionogi & Co., Ltd., is advancing a best-in-class rare disease franchise with a focus on RADICAVA® (edaravone) for the amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) community. The Neurology Account Specialist (NAS) will be responsible for meeting and/or exceeding sales goals in an assigned territory by developing, implementing, and executing an integrated territory business plan. The role requires subject matter expertise in ALS and a customer-focused approach to engage healthcare professionals using approved materials.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed sales objectives for assigned geography through implementation of approved market/selling strategies and solutions.
  • Understand and address both business and scientific needs of healthcare professionals by engaging in meaningful dialogue to determine patient needs and how products can address them.
  • Partner with Medical Science Directors, Managers, Patient Access, Regional Business Directors, HUB services, and other organizational personnel to develop strategies ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic territory business plan by analyzing business, competitive landscape, and territory market to drive growth.
  • Develop, nurture, and maintain professional relationships with targeted KOLs including physicians, medical staff, hospital personnel, and ALS center staff.
  • Navigate hospital formulary processes and develop strategies to ensure successful product positioning and availability.
  • Anticipate potential business challenges, adjust priorities, and develop solutions; maintain proficiency in selling skills, clinical, market, and product knowledge.
  • Collaborate with peers and company personnel to achieve corporate objectives and initiatives.
  • Plan and organize schedule to maximize efficiency and accomplish goals.
  • Act as a company ambassador, presenting a professional image and representing the company, products, and people with integrity and respect.
  • Complete tasks and projects assigned by the Regional Business Director; ensure all activities comply with applicable regulations and Pharma guidelines.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical sales experience, including at least 2 years in Neurology and/or CNS.
  • Sound understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and regulations/guidelines pertaining to pharmaceutical sales.
  • Experience with new product launches.
  • Highly self-directed, committed to excellence, and possess an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Strong selling skills with a track record of sales success, particularly with new product launches.
  • Polished, professional image coupled with outstanding ability to engage others and build strong business relationships.
  • Strong oral/written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; proficiency in Veeva is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%, including frequent overnight stays.

Pay

The base salary range for this full-time, field-based position is $160,000–$185,000. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The range does not include comprehensive benefits, vehicle allowance, bonus, long-term incentive, or any additional compensation associated with this role.
