About the role

Shionogi Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of Shionogi & Co., Ltd., is advancing a rare disease franchise with a focus on RADICAVA® (edaravone) for the amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) community. The Neurology Account Specialist (NAS) will develop and execute an integrated territory business plan to meet or exceed sales goals, leveraging scientific and clinical expertise to engage healthcare professionals in clinically relevant discussions. The ideal location for this role is in the Greater Inland Empire.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed sales objectives for the assigned geography through approved market and selling strategies.
  • Address business and scientific needs of healthcare professionals by engaging in meaningful dialogue to identify patient needs and align products accordingly.
  • Partner with Medical Science Directors, Managers, Patient Access, Regional Business Directors, HUB services, and other personnel to develop customer satisfaction strategies.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic territory business plan by analyzing business, competitive landscape, and market to drive growth.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with targeted key opinion leaders (KOLs), including physicians, medical staff, hospital personnel, and ALS center staff.
  • Navigate hospital formulary processes and develop strategies to ensure successful product positioning and availability.
  • Anticipate business challenges, adjust priorities, and develop solutions to address them.
  • Maintain proficiency in selling skills, clinical and product knowledge, and the business environment of the territory.
  • Collaborate with peers and company personnel to achieve corporate objectives and initiatives.
  • Plan and organize schedules to maximize efficiency and accomplish goals.
  • Act as a company ambassador, representing the company, products, and people with integrity and respect.
  • Complete tasks and projects assigned by the Regional Business Director.
  • Ensure all activities comply with applicable regulations and pharmaceutical guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS).
  • Minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical sales experience, including at least 2 years in Neurology and/or CNS.
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and regulations/guidelines pertaining to pharmaceutical sales.
  • Experience with new product launches.
  • Highly self-directed with a commitment to excellence and an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Proven track record of sales success, particularly with new product launches.
  • Polished, professional image with outstanding ability to engage others and build strong business relationships.
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; proficiency in Veeva is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%, including frequent overnight stays.

Pay

The base salary range for this full-time, field-based position is $160,000–$185,000. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The range does not include comprehensive benefits, vehicle allowance, bonus, long-term incentive, or any additional compensation associated with this role.
