About the role

The Neurophysiology Technologist III at Mayo Clinic is responsible for providing accurate, high-quality Neurodiagnostic testing. This includes performing EEG and LTM activities, invasive and non-invasive monitoring in the ICU/EMU setting, or MNS with special training. Additional responsibilities may include Epilepsy-related outpatient EEG activities, simple and/or complex Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) cases in the OR and IR, and coverage at Mayo Clinic Phoenix and Mayo Clinic Scottsdale campuses.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all EEG and LTM activities, both invasive and non-invasive monitoring in the ICU/EMU setting or may be perform MNS with special training
  • If working in EEG Lab, responsibilities associated with the EMG laboratory may include performing NCV, EP, QST, rotation to Autonomic Studies, or MNS with special training
  • Engage in collaborative research projects
  • Provide coverage at Mayo Clinic Phoenix and Mayo Clinic Scottsdale campuses
  • Participate in EEG and/or IONM call rotation

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completion of formal NDT education from an educational institution in coordination with a hospital and five (5) years of Neurodiagnostics experience, which includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NDT program
  • Graduate from a CAAHEP accredited NDT program and five (5) years of Neurodiagnostics experience, which includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NDT program
  • Associate’s degree in a Neurosciences related field/subject from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of Neurodiagnostics experience, which includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NDT program or formal NDT program
  • Bachelor’s degree in Neurosciences related field/subject from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of Neurodiagnostics experience
  • Master's Degree in Neurosciences or related field, within 12 months of hire, and two (2) years of Neurophysiology experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span
  • Prioritizing data assessment and interpretation for patient status
  • Obtaining additional credentials is strongly encouraged and preferred
  • Registered in one (1) of the following at time of hire: REEGT, RNCST, or CNIM*
  • *If supporting the IONM program, and the candidate has a Bachelor's degree or higher degree the advanced credential CNIM (e.g., NIMT) is required, with additional multi-credentials preferred
  • Registered in one or more of the following advanced credentials depending upon area of focus at time of hire or obtain registration within 24 months from date of hire: CLTM, CNIM, REPT
  • Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, which is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date
